At around 4:16am San Jose Fire department received reports of an elementary school on fire. In April 2008 Mountain View Fire Department ordered 7 new Pierce Quantum Fire Engines and a new TDA Ladder Truck. The first week of September 2009 Mountain View Fire Department placed it’s new 100′ TDA Ladder Truck into service. The crew of Truck one tell me earlier this same day was the truck’s first run.Truck 1 is now a 2009 Pierce Tractor Drawn Aerial, built on a Peirce Quantum chassis. Link: YFD

Santa Clara County FIre Department keeps this 1997 Smeal Ladder truck at El Monte Fire Station on the grounds of Foothill College in Los Altos Hills. This photo was taken while Truck 14 was in quarters one April evening in 2009.The truck was built on a HME chassis.
